Dual apprenticeship programme participates in the Kili Fair

Staff and apprentices of the VETA- Hamburg Dual Apprenticeship programme participated in the Kili Fair held at the Moshi Co-operative University grounds in Moshi from 3rd to 5th June, 2016. Dual Apprenticeship is a block release training system whereby apprentices (trainees) spend different weeks of the year alternating between a training centre (VETA) and their workplace and is implemented by VETA in collaboration with Hamburg Chamber of Skilled Craft- Hamburg, Germany.

The Hamburg Chamber of Skilled Craft- Hamburg fully supported the project apprentices and staff participation in the Fair whereby they practically demonstrated their skills in food production as well as food and beverage services skills.

“The Kili Fair was an excellent opportunity for the qualified apprentices to show their skills to the public. It was also a fantastic occasion for this new type of training in Tanzania to advertise the effectiveness of the Dual apprenticeship,” Says Martin Mac Mahon, Project Manager and Chief Technical Advisor for the Dual Apprenticeship Programme.

Exhibitors and visitors enjoyed the good services provided by the dual apprenticeship team.

Kili Fair is the leading international Outdoor Tourism & Industry Fair in Tanzania, promoting and presenting companies based in the Kilimanjaro-Region, Tanzania and East Africa as a destination.
